69th and Louise
In 2006, we opened our second B & G Milkyway franchise location at the corner of 69th Street and Louise Avenue, also in Sioux Falls. When the land was purchased for this location, people thought we were crazy. It was in the middle of nowhere. There was no sewer hookup, our water service was by rural water, and 69th Street was only a small paved road. To say we were gambling is an understatement. We crossed our fingers and hoped for a growing Sioux Falls and our solid reputation would aid in the success of our second franchise. WOW! It did. It epitomizes the phrase “build it, and they will come.” And what a store! This franchise was purchased by an employee of our Sycamore location. She saw the success of our Sycamore Avenue store and wanted to be part of it. Built in the middle of nowhere, this franchise owner has worked hard to create one of the most successful businesses in the region.

My family and I have been coming to B & G for years! We prefer it over DQ. The staff are AMAZING. I love the different flavors and you can customize ANYTHING they have!! My personal fav is chocolate ice cream dipped in the cherry cone dip, sprinkled with nuts, so freaking good!! In the fall, they use actual pumpkin pie to mix in! Nothing fake here!!
Best shakes and maple malts ever! I ordered a maple malt and hot dog and I was not let down. Very strong maple flavor, great quantity for your money and the customer service was excellent. You can’t go wrong here!
First time, went through drive and got the vanilla waffle cone with vanilla ice cream. This is the best waffle cone I have ever had in my life! So thick and crunchy. The ice cream itself is so thick and creamy. I’m so happy! Also, random comment, but the spoon is a great shape and not flimsy.
10/10. Suggest you try this place at least once. The smoked brisket sandwich and or the hamburger steak sandwich will get you started and soon you will find your own favorites on the menu. Also note the prices are comparable and affordable in comparison to the larger franchises. Eating here, you will still get the small town feel and familiarity of a local chain vs. being churned through the line of other fast food businesses. Note that it is a locally-owned franchise but it is not a local fast food chain. Still it has a more comfortable local milkshake stand feel when you visit, making you want to bring a friend the next time you visit.
My family had a wonderful ice cream time here while we stayed overnight at Sioux Falls on the way from Wisconsin to Mount Rushmore area. Wonderful ice cream and great memories!
If you love ice cream—this is the very best stuff you will find. It is SO much better than anything else you can get. Summer is the best because of B & G!
